Community Development

Tackling the Issue

At Neema Women Tanzania, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Part of elevating the socio-economic situation of African families, comes with improving their community and developing the potential that they hold. Unlike common thinking, we believe that every community holds a unique potential and strength which can be exploited and used to support the community members. Infrastructure development is a key driver for progress across the African continent and a critical enabler for productivity and sustainable economic growth. It contributes significantly to human development, poverty reduction, and the attainment of sustainability and independence. This program aims to see the provision and development of basic human health requirements. Through our “Community Development” program we will aim to:

  1. Improve  infrastructure and communal spaces

  2. Create and promote climate-friendly ecosystem

  3. Improve sanitary structures and quality of life

  4. Provide support in accessing basic human needs

For Africa, the need for adequate infrastructure—secure energy, efficient water provision system, reliable agricultural systems, resilient sanitation, and affordable housing—is particularly apparent. Africa’s vast infrastructure deficit is a constraint on its growth, but also an opportunity to leapfrog to new, more efficient technologies. Current key challenges will be to supply the burgeoning population with reliable electricity, affordable housing, and educational and health infrastructure.

Projects included in this program are:

  • Fountain Project  - Drinking dirty water can cause diseases such as cholera, typhoid and diarrhoea, which kills millions of people every year. In many parts of the country, women and children walk for hours across dangerous terrain in search of water. This project will see the creation of large/small water wells within villages and suburban areas, with an easy system of water pumping. For more information please click on the following link.

  • Lumiere  -  Energy provides services to meet many basic human needs, particularly cooking, motive power (e.g. water pumps and transport) and light. This is why we want to implement renewal and “green” ways to provide access to energy. For more information please click on the following link.

  • Terre source – In rural agriculture represents a rather large proportion of the feeding and nutrition system. Hence we have implemented local sustainable agricultural structures which will support the provision of healthy and organic food.

For more information on this feel free to have a chat with one of our coordinators who will be more than happy to give you more details.
